Biography of Dr. Tim Nolan

As Executive Director of Child and Family Centers of Excellence, Inc., Dr. Nolan has been a Head Start Director for nearly 40 years. He is also CEO of Child and Family Centers of Excellence, Inc. and was the first President of the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association.

He is President of Innovative Outcomes, Inc. and in this role, has been a consultant to businesses and organizations for over 37 years. He is also President of The Center for Leadership Excellence, Inc.

He has delivered a unique Leadership Laboratory at Vail Colorado for the last 13 years. Tim is author or co-author of 41 books, including the Head Start Professional Development Series. His books include work on leadership, strategic planning, and organizational and personal excellence. His Applied Strategic Planning™ model is in use by thousands of organizations across the English-speaking world, including over 450 Head Start agencies. He had three new books published in 2008, The Consultants Kit for Applied Strategic Planning, An Introduction to Applied Strategic Planning and a video based Board Excellence Kit. Expected in 2009 are ThoughtCrafting™, The Handbook for Child and Family Specialists™, Opportunity Incomes™ and the Organizational Handbook for Child and Family Excellence.

Additionally, second editions of three books in the Professional Development series will be published (Organizational Systems Excellence, Compassionate Partnering™ and Marketing of Head Start Services). He is working to drive the agenda of early childhood excellence forward across many dimensions, including the new Early Childhood Excellence Network.
